The number of young Canadians using an e-cigarette jumped 75% in Canada in 2016-2017 compared to the previous year. This is the conclusion of a survey of Health Canada conducted with 52 000 young people.
A recent Health Canada survey of 52 000 youth has concluded that the number of young Canadians using an e-cigarette jumped 75% in Canada in 2016-2017 from the previous year.
It shows that 10% of high school students used an e-cigarette the last 30 days preceding the survey. The United States experiences a similar situation. The use of the vaper has increased from 78% in 15 to 18 years from 2017 to 2018.
Although the numbers show a disturbing trend, the Trudeau government does not pay much attention to this increase. He prefers to rely on the Canadian Tobacco, Alcohol and Drug Survey with 16 000 Canadian Youth in 2017.
The study demonstrates that 6,3% of youth between 15 and 19 years ago used the e-cigarette the last 30 days preceding the survey. The data is the same as in 2015.
