You must have heard of IQOS, an electronic device produced by the giant Philip Morris that heats tobacco. And know that the tobacco company has invested a large sum for the construction of its plant in Germany.
If there is little time, a Swiss study has come up against IQOS plans by announcing that it would emit smoke, nothing seems to stop Philip Morris in his desire to conquer. Indeed, the US giant has recently announced the construction of a heated tobacco plant in a new technology business center called "Silicon Saxony" in Germany for 320 million dollars (286 million). The unit, whose construction will be completed by the end of 2019, will employ some 500 employees once production is launched.
If the amount can make you dizzy, be aware that Philip Morris International has a turnover equal to 74 billion dollars for the year 2016. Just for its IQOS project, the US giant has already spent 1,2 billion dollars, saying that it will be difficult to compete.
