In Switzerland, the e-cigarette begins to impose itself in the process of stopping smoking. New proof is with a new program incorporating the recently available vaping at the Suchthilfe Ost help center in Olten.
Smokers who are ready to quit smoking will be able to do so through the electronic cigarette. The help center Suchthilfe Ost à Olten proposes on Wednesday a new program integrating vaping. Nearly two-thirds of smokers (61%) want to quit. Completely giving up nicotine is, for some, too big a step, says the association soleuroise.
She proposes a pilot project during 18 months. Smokers who participate will be followed by professionals. The latter received specific training on vaping. Switching to the electronic cigarette can be a real alternative. The arrival on the market of replacement products, especially e-cigarettes, opens up new possibilities.
Vape is a way to consume nicotine without most of the toxic products found in combustion cigarettes. The association of German professionals of addiction asks the Confederation and the cantons to recognize the e-cigarette as a means of reducing risks.
This initiative, supported by Helvetic Vape, the Swiss Association of Personal Vaporizer Users, complies with the 2017-2024 National Addiction Strategy.
