SWITZERLAND: The canton of Bern wants to ban the sale of e-cigarettes to less than 18 years

In Switzerland, the canton of Bern wants to take measures concerning the e-cigarette. He wishes to prohibit the sale to minors under 18 years ...

NUMEROUS LIMITATIONS AND REGULATIONS AGAINST E-CIGARETTES

The Bern Government wishes to prohibit the sale of electronic cigarettes to less than 18, whether or not they contain nicotine. It also advocates a ban on advertising and protective provisions against passive smoking.

Tobacco products to be heated, herbal smoking products, such as herbal or hemp cigarettes with a low THC content, as well as snuff should be subject to the same requirements. The requirements would therefore be the same as for cigarettes.

These measures are included in the draft revision of the Trade and Industry Act. They met a largely favorable echo during the procedure of consultation, indicated on Friday the canton of Berne.
