As expected, the recent ban on e-cigarettes in San Francisco is "envious". On the social network "Twitter", the mayor from Seattle, Jenny Durkan, said it was time to have a "discussion" about banning vaping products in the city. For Seattle vape shop owners such a decision is not debatable, the answer is "no".

"HYPOCRISY FROM THE GOVERNMENT! "
The owners of Seattle's vape and tobacco shops speak after the mayor of the city, Jenny Durkan, said it was time for the city to consider a ban on e-cigarettes. She launched the idea on the social network Twitter, after San Francisco became the first city to ban vaping products. Anti-smoking groups and the American Heart Association welcomed the adoption of the e-cigarettes bill.
Bold move by San Francisco. It's time to have this discussion in Seattle. Data shows a rise in use and health issues related to e-cigarettes, esp. by young people. WA led the way battling Big Tobacco & smoking tux. We can not afford to go backwards. https://t.co/kFAyjTHuDu

Meanwhile, the owner of the Broadway Smoke Shop in Seattle mocked by reading Mayor Durkan's tweet.
« It's hypocrisy on the part of the government"Said Harry, who chose not to give his last name. " You can smoke marijuana, you can smoke cigarettes and everything is fine? But e-cigarettes are not combustible? I do not think that's a good idea. »
Le Broadway Smoke Shop is one of the 5 493 tobacco retailers in Washington. Many sell e-cigarettes and Harry states that vaping products represent about 40% of his sales.
« Why ? Because people do not smoke cigarettes anymore, Harry said. " And, they consider that the e-cigarette is much better to taste and for health »
Although the medical community agrees that more research is needed, Washington lawmakers do not want to wait. A new national law will come into effect next year, raising the age for the purchase of tobacco products and e-cigarettes to 21 years. Other states are also taking action. In Vermont, there is a new 92% tax on electronic cigarettes, while Colorado prohibits the vape in most public places.
Zach McClainOwner Future Vapor in Seattle, said he also wanted to prevent young people from using e-cigarettes. But, he thinks, banning them altogether will create a black market for the product and bring the old adult smokers back to the cigarette.
«Adults have always been our priority! He says.
