In Belgium, the LaSemo festival whose 12e edition will take place the 12, 13 and 14 July in the Parc d'Enghien has decided to become a non-smoking and non-vaping event after having already imposed reusable cups and dry toilets.
The 12th edition of the LaSemo Festival which this year will receive Grand Corps Malade, Charlie Winston, the Green Negresses and many others appears as a non-smoking and non-vaping. Only the 3 concert halls and the Troquet will be accessible to smokers and vapers, say the organizers of the festival in a statement.
Three smokers will however be equipped to accommodate nicotine addicts, says the festival. Butts recovered at these locations will then be collected and recycled.
«Above all, we want to promote conviviality and the comfort of the public, "says the director of the event., Samuel Chappel, quoted in the statement.
«It is not only a question of public health but also a major issue related to the reduction of waste. Although we can rejoice in the incredible cleanliness of the park, butts are still the main waste that we find.»
