It's good news that society teaches us VDLV through an official statement! After obtaining AFNOR certification (XP 90 D300-2 part) for all its e-liquids in 2016, VDLV continues its quality approach by integrating its Nicotine Vapologique manufactured in Pessac to all its ranges of e-liquids. liquids, Vincent in the Vapes and CirKus.
NICOTINE VAPOLOGIQUE, A PRODUCT OF GREAT QUALITY!
What is Nicotine Vapologic?
It is first necessary to remember that nicotine is a molecule naturally present in tobacco but also in some plants such as tomatoes and aubergines. From the family of alkaloids, it is quickly eliminated by the body. Nicotine is neither carcinogenic, nor mutagenic nor reprotoxic but exhibits high concentration toxicity. In its pure and liquid form, it is obtained by extraction of tobacco leaves.
VDLV has developed a new extraction method based on a "soft technology", which is not very aggressive with respect to the product, whose purity exceeds the pharmaceutical market requirements (European Pharmacopoeia PE and American USP quality).
For the first time, this nicotine called "Vapologique" produced in Pessac in Gironde is specifically designed for inhalation; its manufacture does not require the use of harmful or toxic solvents. From the selection of plots where tobacco plants are grown to final distillation, VDLV controls its entire supply and production chain to ensure optimal traceability.
A Vapologic Nicotine extracted with French tobacco plants.
Supported in this project by the New Aquitaine Region, VDLV has always had the ambition to produce a nicotine from tobacco plants grown in France. This type of production requires the use of tobacco with a high nicotine power. However, until very recently, French tobacco was mainly grown for smoking and had nicotine levels too low to be exploited industrially by VDLV.
Agricultural engineers located in Bergerac have done a lot of work in selecting varieties of plants to find those that could meet the needs of VDLV. After a promising first harvest of 5 ha in 2018, the selected plants will be planted again next April in Dordogne. If weather conditions are favorable, the amount of brown tobacco harvested should be sufficient to meet all the nicotine requirements of VDLV. The long-term goal is also to create a strong link with local farmers by encouraging them to develop innovative farming techniques such as experimenting on seedling varieties or the application of new phytosanitary solutions.
Extraction technology based on green chemistry principles
The method of design and industrial exploitation developed in full agreement with the principles of green chemistry ensures optimized management of material flows. The entire production unit is based on a closed circuit that limits water consumption and generates very little waste. The technology used reduces the use or generation of substances that are harmful to the environment and limits the presence of impurities in the product. VDLV also exploits part of its waste by supplying mulch (tobacco residue) from local biogas companies for the production of energy and fertilizers.
Nicotine Vapologic present in all VDLV e-liquids
The integration of Vapologic Nicotine into the e-liquids of VDLV was done in several stages. Until performance capabilities can fully meet its needs, VDLV has chosen in 2017 to preview this nicotine in a collection of 3 e-liquids from the range Origin nV Vincent in the Vapes. The nicotine produced was then extracted from tobacco plants of foreign origin. Once fully qualified analytically, it could be integrated into all other e-liquids. It is now accessible to all the faithful of the company Pessacaise since it is present at Vincent in the Vapes through the ranges the Incontournables and Great but also at CirKus with Authentic collections CirKus, Black CirKus and Classic wanted.
The history of Nicotine Vapologique is still going on since, thanks to the commitment of local agronomic partners and local tobacco growers, VDLV is now turning to the use of tobacco grown in France for the production of its pure liquid nicotine (see box ). Inscribing its development in the sustainable, through green chemistry and industrial ecology remains a priority issue for employees of VDLV, continuing its innovations in a principle of circular economy.
