While Laurent Fabius presented this Monday 11 January his vows to the press, the Minister of Foreign Affairs may well leave the Quai d'Orsay. The former prime minister could indeed quickly navigate to other waters. The most likely track? His appointment as President of the Constitutional Council.
In case of departure, some names come back insistently. This is the case of that of the former Minister of Justice, Elisabeth Guigou, but also those of Ségolène Royal and Marisol Touraine. Leaving his post in the midst of the health law crisis and just a few months before the transposition of the Tobacco Directive, Marisol Touraine would benefit to save his skin in a boat whose hull has clearly taken the water. If obviously we would be happy not to hear his shameful speech about the electronic cigarette, not sure that a potential successor would change the game.
