After the United States, the United Kingdom or France, the company Juul Labs just launched his famous e-cigarette « JUUL " in Ireland. The much-maligned device will soon be on sale at petrol stations and some specialty stores in the country.
The famous American manufacturer Juul Labs does not seem satiated by its international expansion and is therefore embarking on the conquest of new countries. New target, Ireland, a country that counts 830 000 smokers. The launch of the e-cigarette Juul took place last Tuesday and it should very soon be on sale in service stations Circle K and specialty stores Hale Vaping.
Gareth Smyth, managing director of Juul in Ireland, said the company would find other outlets. " We are in discussion with other vendors to expand the perimeter" , did he declare.
Mr. Smyth explained that the company required that shops sell their products only to people over the age of 18 and requires any customer under the age of 25 to identify themselves. It effectively trains resellers to implement this procedure.
«We check the application of this procedure in shops thanks to mystery audits", did he declare. Mr. Smyth adds that Juul Labs will stop supplying all stores that do not implement this directive three times in a row.
As a reminder, the packaging of the e-cigarette Juul contains warnings and the brand does not advertise on social networks. However, Mr Winterton and Mr Simyth argued that the Republic of Ireland needed new laws prohibiting the sale of vape products to young people.
« Currently, it is not necessarily illegal to sell e-cigarettes to less than 18 years in Ireland", Said Mr Smyth.
