In Italy, the city of Milan takes the issue of smoking very seriously! At the start of the year, the city is making decisions that are only the start of a war on smoking, which will lead Milan to ban it from public places in 2025.
Milan, the capital of Lombardy, will ban its inhabitants from smoking within ten meters of a passer-by in public places from January 19, 2021. This anti-smoking measure concerns in particular large squares, stadiums, parks, cemeteries and bus stops. And this is just a taste of what awaits die-hard smokers: smoking will be completely banned outside in 2025.
This war against smoking was launched as part of an action plan against pollution enacted in November 2020 by the city council at the initiative of the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, from the Democratic Party.
