Sebastien Beguerie, co-founder of start-up KanaVape, who proposed two months ago to put on the market an electronic cigarette with hemp taste and euphoric effects, was placed in custody this week, according to an information from RTL.
During a recent search, investigators unearthed 19 plants of hemp at his home. Accused of “consumption, possession and purchase of cannabis”, the young entrepreneur defends himself through the voice of his lawyer, who affirms: “My client uses cannabis for therapeutic purposes, but KanaVape electronic cigarettes do not. not contain. They are legal ”.
Because, since January, the start-up faces an investigation even more problematic, opened by the parquet of Marseilles. Justice will have to determine if Sébastien Beguerie and his partner Antonin Cohen have unlawfully practiced the profession of pharmacist by introducing hemp in the composition of their vaping.
