In a recent interview with our colleagues from Technikart, Kounen, French director, producer and screenwriter of Dutch origin looks back on his love for vaping but also on the militant aspect in which he locked himself for several years in order to produce " Vape Wave" page (in French).
In an interview which at the base concerned the wheel (monoroue or electric wheel), the French director, producer and screenwriter Kounen that we know well in the world of vaping looks back on his experience in this very special world.
»I am curious about a lot of things. So I try them. And sometimes one of them becomes so important to me that it makes me want to make a movie of it. It's my militant side. This has been the case with the electronic cigarette. I, who was a smoker, realized that thanks to vaping, I could quit smoking easily while still having fun with nicotine, which is not very dangerous in fact, it's like caffeine ... this are the other substances that are dangerous. In short. By taking an interest in vaping, I met a whole community, I was able to access a lot of information, and as I am a filmmaker, at one point, I wanted to share what I was learning. This gave Vape Wave (documentary released in theaters in 2017 on the vape as a cultural revolution, editor's note). "
Asked if he would possibly be willing to do the same sort of militant wheel work, Kounen answers bluntly:
No, I stopped militant dating docs because Vape Wave took me two and a half years of my life, it's too hard. I did it once, I won't do it again. ".
