HEALTH: ANSES publishes a report on vaping products sold in France

This is a first in the European Union! A few days ago now, the ANSES (National Agency for Health, Food, Environment and Labor Safety) published an unprecedented report on tobacco and vaping products sold in France. The declarations of more than 3 tobacco products, mainly cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos, and more than 000 vaping products, mostly e-liquids packaged in bottles or refill cartridges, were analyzed.

DISCOVERY OF INCONSISTENCIES AND NON-CONFORMITIES IN THE DECLARATIONS!

ANSES has therefore just published an unprecedented report on tobacco and vaping products sold in France. The declarations of more than 3 tobacco products, mainly cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos, and more than 000 vaping products, mostly e-liquids packaged in bottles or refill cartridges, were analyzed. This analysis made it possible to identify inconsistencies and non-conformities in the declarations of which the manufacturers were informed so that they could take the appropriate corrective measures. In the light of this first assessment, ANSES is issuing recommendations with a view to improving the declaration process at European level.
France is to date the first Member State to publish so much information on the products placed on the market, within the framework of the new European regulations.

This analysis enabled ANSES to establish a list of substances declared in the compositions of products: more than 1200 additives were referenced for vaping products. THE'ANSES informed all the declarants concerned of the non-conformities observed and asked them to proceed with the regularization of their situation, by acting either on the products or on their declarations according to the European process. Non-compliant products require special attention from the authorities to ensure that these products are no longer offered for sale.

Within this report, we also find a complete panorama of online media that deal with vaping. Vapoteurs.net and Le Vapelier are obviously part of this list even if many errors have crept in in the presentation of our platforms.
