A new study to charge against the e-cigarette? This research from the United States and conducted by the Pr Stanton Glantz shows that e-cigarette users are twice as likely to suffer a heart attack as non-smokers.
According to a survey conducted by researchers at the University of California (USA) with 69,452 people, the daily use of electronic cigarettes could almost double the risk of heart attack. This study also reveals that smokers who opt for both the conventional cigarette and the electronic cigarette have 5 times more heart risks than nonsmokers.
« Most adults who use electronic cigarettes continue to smoke cigarettes« , said the Pr Stanton Glantz, lead author of the study. " Using both products at the same time is worse than using them separately. Someone who continues to smoke daily using electronic cigarettes increases the likelihood of a heart attack by five times.« He insists.
According to him the e-cigarette seems to be a plague just like smoking, in his commentary he adds: « The risk of heart attack begins to decrease as soon as you stop smoking. Our study suggests that it's the same thing when you quit the electronic cigarette« .
