It never ends! The Thai authorities have launched a new crackdown on e-cigarettes with the seizure of several thousand items in recent weeks. If these devices have indeed been banned in Thailand since 2014, many are calling for their legalization.
Police and the consumer protection agency have announced the arrest of 10 people for possession of nearly 600 Vapors and 5 000 liquid bottles. Since the end of September, the authorities have raided several stores and vendors that illegally offer electronic cigarettes.
E-cigarettes are still hotly debated in Thailand because of the alleged health consequences. Some organizations claim that the use of vaping products could encourage more young people to smoke and therefore become addicted to nicotine.
