In the United States, the state of Indiana has decided to tackle smoking but not only. Indeed, the Indiana Senate Health Committee is clearly considering taxing vape products, and industry professionals are worried about the repercussions.
The Senate Health Committee of Indiana recently introduced a bill raising the minimum age required to buy cigarettes or vape products (e-cigarettes and e-liquids). The age needed to buy could therefore go from 18 to 21 even for products that do not contain nicotine.
For proponents of this bill, this decision could improve the health of the state by limiting the number of smokers. For the representatives of the companies concerned, a tax on vaping products could harm the industry and have a catastrophic impact on the economy of the sector.
