In the United States, the state of Indiana has decided to tackle smoking, but not only. Indeed, the Indiana Senate Health Committee is clearly considering taxing vaping products and industry professionals are worried about the repercussions.
The Indiana Senate Health Committee recently introduced a bill raising the minimum age requirement to purchase cigarettes or vaping products (e-cigarettes and e-liquids). The age necessary to buy could therefore drop from 18 to 21 years even for products that do not contain nicotine.
For supporters of this bill, the move could improve the health of the state by limiting the number of smokers. For representatives of the companies concerned, a tax on vaping products could harm the industry and have catastrophic repercussions on the sector's economy.
